“Autumn dresses up in gold, the richest season of the soul.”
-Angie Weiland-Crosby
Fall – a season that feels equal parts savoring the present moment and embracing the change to come. The beauty that surrounds pulls us out the door and urges us to savor the warmth of the sun and crisp, cool air. We adventure, we soak in the sights and revel in slowed pace fall brings.
Just as fall as has a way of pulling us out, it seems it also has a way of gently urging us to settle in, slow our ways, and nestle in in preparation for the winter season ahead. For me this means pulling out my favorite cookbooks and finding all the comforting soups and stews, cozying up in my favorite sweaters and sweatshirts, creating warmth by lighting candles, and spending more time in reflection.
Whether you’re feeling the pull to adventure or the urge to settle in and nest, here is a list of items that will leave you embracing fall + savoring this fleeting season.

Told by Dirt Road Candle Co. themselves – “In remembrance of my cousin who built the biggest and most amazing bonfires at his cabin (and also built the cabin pictured at just 18 years old!) Will’s Cabin will give you a true essence of sitting by a warm, cozy bonfire in the middle of an Iowan cornfield in the heart of the fall season.”
A feel-good read through and through – I was enthralled as I read about Erin + Ben Napier’s journey, but also their philosophies + approach to life. A book infused with beautiful storytelling and enlightening viewpoints that had me reaching for my highlighter and earmarking every third page!
